Mailbox Monday Masculine

Happy Monday April 4th  to you all!  Today’s MMM isn’t Mailbox Makeover Monday it’s Mailbox Monday Masculine!  You know how some Monday’s just don’t go your way?  Well… that has been my day!  I had a major case of procrastination and creativity block the last two days.

Thankfully, a question posed to me recently had me thinking about masculine cards.  A friend asked me ” you shouldn’t have any problem making masculine cards”?

Yes, I do have creators block when it comes to masculine cardmaking.

A Stampers Mailbox Masculine Cardmaking

This fun Triangle Gate Fold with Belly Band card was created with masculine card-making in mind!

I am sharing this idea with you- the technique can me made into a standard A2 card size as well.

(Hint: MMM future card)

Creating triangle flaps for card fronts is super easy!

How to:

Video on Facebook Time stamp: 5:00 Click the above photo to see the Facebook Live video.    Use a zero centering ruler to tick mark the center points of the gate fold card base flaps.  Then used my paper cutter to align both the score line and the tick mark to the cutting groove of the paper trimmer.  Cut those triangles out- quickly and easily!

Once the triangle dies are adhered to the Designer Series Paper, glue the left or the right flap to the DSP, stamp the inner layer and voila- the majority of the card is done!

I am forever sending out belated birthday cards – this is a fun one!

For the belly band: I used the off cut of the base card.  It’s 2″ x 8 1/2″ , fold it gently around the card.  Make sure you don’t wrap it too tightly- you need it to slide on & off easily:) Wrap some twine and a other birthday sentiment attached to the front!

It’s a large card, finished measure is 4″ x 9 1/4″ – with the belly band it doesn’t fit my Tall & Slim card envelope- this makes it a bit too wide for a standard DIY envelope made with 8 1/2″ x 11″ copy paper.

In today’s video I show you how to make a quick envelope from 12 x 12 patterned paper.

Time Stamp for envelope making: 24:30.

Today’s Technology issues and ‘Gregor the Gremlin’ hanging out with me in the craft room has really slowed me down and put me very behind!

Speaking of slow, today’s Facebook Live Stream has alot of slow spots, lag time, and latency issues.

My deepest apologies, it’s not an easy video to watch.  Hence, why I pointed out two of the time stamp spots for this project.  Focus in on those spots in the demonstration and ignore the rest of the video:).

A Stampers Mailbox Bonus for the Gals Card

While I was waiting on all the computer issues to resolve today, I took some time and made a floral version of this card using the same paper pack and same card sketch!

Love it!!

A Stampers Mailbox Bonus for the Gals Card

I had much more fun cardmaking than being an IT person today.  I’m not so good at computer support stuff and I just about caved like I did two weeks ago.  The issues are still not resolved hence the crummy Facebook Live stream… back to the drawing board.

With luck and an awesome spouse who is good at all this stuff- I will be back to smooth video quality in two weeks for the next Mailbox Makeover Monday Facebook Live Demonstration.
