Find Your Inspiration Friday

Today’s installment of Find Your Inspiration Friday aka FYIY is inspired by the Sweetest Candy Cane bundle!  These projects were featured during Stampers Club Christmas in July gathering.

I thought it would be fun to share what we did and get some Holiday Cheer moving here on the blog!

I like quick and simple projects just as much as I like  ‘crafting in’ for hours on something more detailed!  These fun items are ready for my holiday 2022 card & gift-giving tote.

Sweetest Candy Cane Bundle

  Isn’t this bundle awesome?

A Crafters Collaboration featured it as our theme last month.  Head over to Facebook or Instagram to see the fun projects made with it!

Embossed Treat Bags by Stampin'Up!

This is a food safe treat bag big enough to hold a nicely sized single serving goodie or a couple of big chewy chocolate chip bakery size cookies!  Bag size: 4-3/4″ x 6-1/2″ x 1-1/2″

 10 count

See this blog post for another fun way to gift Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Holiday Gift Ready!

I love the texture these bags have!

Some quick stamping and die cutting along with a strip of Real Red cardstock to ‘hang’ the candy canes and your bag is complete!

Now onto a card made with this bundle.

Quick and Simple Christmas Card

Using traditional red & white ‘candy cane’ colors as choices for a Christmas card always works!  I added a bit of texture that doesn’t show well in the photo – but if you look closely the white layer behind ‘Merry & Bright’  shows some stamped-shadow looking script.  These aren’t shadows – it’s the same sentiment stamped and heat embossed with white powder.

Another detail are the red dots.  l used Basic Pearls with Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend marker to custom color these white dots to match project.  The blends markers have great coverage and dry quickly when coloring embellishments.

A neat ways to add another detail to an otherwise simple card.

TIPS: Want to make alot of this style of Christmas cards?  1) Use Adhesive Sheets on your cardstock before die cutting large stripe die. 2) White heat emboss:  Stamp and white emboss whole sheet(s) of cardstock then cut down to card layer sizes.

Measurements:

Card: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

  • Stripe layer:
  • White Heat Embossed Layer  1 3/4″ x 3 7/8″
  • Sentiment Layer 7/8″  x 3  7/8″

Bag: 4-3/4″ x 6-1/2″ x 1-1/2″

  • Die Cut Candy Canes (2)
  • Sentiment Die Label with Ribbon holes
  • Real Red Strip: (not quite) 1/2″ x  4 3/4″

Project Supplies

To view all the products used in todays projects click here.  If you would like to shop for some of the items featured today but realize “wait, ALL the products are in my cart!!”  I wish there was a setting that allowed me to change that- so the fastest way I know to ‘clean your cart’ when you view this supply list is to UN-Check the items you don’t want.  Sounds backwards – this I know… but it does work and doesn’t have you accidentally buying things you don’t want or need:)

OH – don’t forget to add in the host code below in your shopping cart!  Thanks in Advance!!!
