Cranky Cat Christmas Pocket Card
Today’s Mailbox Monday Makeover is a ‘Do-Over’ of a long ago pocket card. I’m taking this very dated project and putting some simple holiday fun in it!
Let’s give this card an updated makeover.
Featuring this adorable yet very cranky Christmas Cat!
His face is so adorable he just had to be featured on this super simple card layout.
I’ve adjusted the measurements from the original so that it will fit into a standard A2 envelope.
Supplies:
-
4 1/4″ x 11″ Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
-
Score at 5 1/2″ and one end at 1 1/2″ for front edge fold
-
-
3 1/2″ x 5 1/8″ Basic White Cardstock
-
Designer Series Paper, Dies or Stamps
-
Sentiment Stamps
-
Corner Rounder
-
Glue, tape, stapler
Fold and crease your score lines well. Bone folders are great tools to add to your crafty tool kit if you don’t have one. I placed 3 staples very near the edge of the cardstock on both sides. The third is hidden under the front pocket flap. I simply glued the front flap down.
This flap area gives you a great place to hide ribbon ends or brad ends .
I kept it simple for flat mailing with glued down layers.
I embellished with fussy cut Christmas Bulb strands, a wee mouse in a stocking and the sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin October Stamp Set.
The expression on the cats face is hilarious. I thought the words Holiday Cheer gave a touch of sarcasm to this cute card. For the cat people in your life, this card it perfect!
When you are attaching the cat or whatever embellishment you are using take care to not glue a section so that it will move over the top pocket edge.

Using a neutral insert like this will give you lots of space to write a greeting on. This card layout will be cute for any occasion!
