Mailbox Monday…Let’s have Cookies!
This crafter has cookies on the brain! I wanted to do a makeover of the Spooky & Sweet Cookie Box from a Coffee & Cardmakers event & blog article last year. But… no cookies in the house that would fit this box. The kitchen queen needs to get busy!
So rather than a makeover- let’s do something fun for these cookies.
I was at World Market this weekend shopping for spice jars, bar stools and whatever fun stuff this store offers. I scored 5 more spice jars for my growing spice collection, no bar stools but joy- these cookies in this tiny package. They have a big roll but having never tried them I didn’t want that many cookies in the house. My waist line likes Cookies a little TOO much. Ok – so ya know the area as you are mazing toward checkout with all the mini items and fun impulse buys right? The had these wee little ones!
Bought two- one as taste test aka Quality Control mmhhhmmm … the other for a future blog post.
Let’s make a Cookie Treat!
Quick Supplies List:
-
3″ x 6″ Pattern Paper
-
Tear & Tape
-
Stamp Set
-
Cardtock or pre-cut label/banner shapes for tags
-
1/8″ hole punch
-
Reinforcement Stickers
-
Ribbon or twine.
Here is what I did, I kept today super simple. As I was pondering how to cute this up and make it deliverable, I had the thought of old fashioned Animal Crackers and how they came in a box with a rope handle. I loved those when I was a wee fry, I could carry the box with me outside to play. Now, while I love box making but some Monday’s just need Quick & Simple. So, I brought the two ideas together. Grown up Cookies with a carrying handle! These could be dropped on a pals door knob, an office colleagues desk or hang on a host’s house for a thank you gift!
Using any type Designer Series Patterned paper makes your craft making simple! Suit the paper to your holiday or crafty mood of the day! I am using the 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper from Stampin’Up!© it’s colorfully cheerful! I love the new Sweet Sorbet In Color. It’s a perfect hue – not really pink and not a true red either. A just right in between.
I think this project will look great with any Patterned Paper – especially holiday DSP or even wrapping paper. We always have those off cuts we are never sure what to do with.
To make this a touch more durable, I used reinforcement stickers.
Cut in half and overlapped to match the 1/8″ holes.
All Finished!
You know how we go into a project and love all the elements then when you get it finished you aren’t quite in love with it? That has happened to me today – insert shoulder shrug- and be happy because it’s still cute! I love this DSP and I like the tag but not sure I love them together!
The tag is made with a Paper Pumpkin leftover.
Stamped quick for a quick treat. Want another idea for cookies?
