Makeover Tuesday’s CASE’s the Catalog

Happy first Daylight Savings Time day of the week.  Todays Makeover Monday  Tuesday CASE’s the Catalog!  I am delayed a day – so tired from it!  I am firmly in the ‘not a fan’ camp of time change and yesterday was no exception!  I went to bake an experimental bread yesterday morning at 6 am (hmm mmm 5 am body time) and as I was transferring it from the counter to the dutch oven – RIP- the damp parchment gave way and splat! Right on its bottom on the floor.  OK. welp, not to waste what was already an experimental loaf and the energy of the already preheated oven- onward go.  (It turned out to be a lovely bread- even getting an early morning deflating smack- down. )

All that to say- I had began my day yesterday way too early and had to be out the door right at 7am.  The rest of the day was a full, full one.  This post got completely derailed and picked back up today!

Rushed = I need easy = CASE the Catalog Monday – Tuesday!

I love the Stampin’UP! Catalog – it’s such a resource for inspiration.  Today,  it really is!  If you have a catalog pop over to page 60 – no catalog?  No worries- here’s a quick picture.

This is what we are doing today – with a Monday  Tuesday Makeover twist.

This card is my makeover goal!

I don’t have this stamp or die set so it’s perfect for a makeover!

Supplies for CASE the Catalog Makeover

Let’s start this card with prepping the cardstock and die cutting all the flower pieces.  I first added some color with Flirty Flamingo Ink & Calypso Coral Ink to add some quick appeal to the flat cardstock.

Do this before you die cut the solid shapes to save time.

Sponging the cardstock for the blobs

Then I grabbed a scrap of Basic White to serve as my template for the Stamparatus Stamp Positioner.

Now for the flowers:  cut 10 solid shapes (I call them blobs 🙂 ) and one on the scrap white.

Place your newly made template into the stamp positioned then align the stamp – test stamp on your grid paper as in the picture on the right.  Place a blob solid shape into your template aligning the shape well. Now ink and stamp the image onto the die cut pieces.  Repeat on all 1o blob shapes!  This makes for very fast stamping!  Makes for minimal waste of time and cardstock for the blank blobs.

Die Cut and Stamp using the Stamparatus

Adhesive sheets- for intricate dies, these are a mess saver and worth an add to your crafty tool collection!

I applied adhesive sheet to the Calypso Coral Cardstock to die cut the detailed dies.

Stamp, Action, CASE the Catalog

Once you have all the layers ready- putting this card together is fun and simple.

Almost Done Card - time for the flowers

Now time to dress it up with the flowers!

CASE the Catalog Makeover edition

Add a bit of bling with the Pearl Basic Jewels colored with Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend Marker.

Square cards need a DIY Envelope.  Here’s a template for you.

When you click on this template- it will pop you over to a recent blog post featuring 3 square cards.  More ideas!!
