Friday Inspiration from Bakeware!

Today’s Bakeware to Cardmaking Inspiration comes from a recent shopping trip to Home Goods.  Our church was holding a Pie Auction Fundraiser and I needed a tray to hold my entry.  While perusing the holiday and kitchen section of the store I came across these loaf tins.  Bread Baking is on the brain for gift giving this year and I loved the green color, the old fashioned speckled enamel look and the labeling.. oooh spot on for card creating.  The price at $4.99 each – yes!  Two of them landed in my cart!

Inspiration really struck when I got home and the labels were easy to remove and really lovely.  I knew that cards would be in my plan!  Lets see how many I can get out of these two labels!

Gather Supplies for Labels Become Cards

This cut pile of fun may look like a bunch of scraps but I think it will come together for some great Christmas Cards.  All of these pieces are from one Loaf Tin Label

Gathering supplies was easy- I carried the Loaf Tin around, threw pre-cut card bases, layers I thought might work, Memories & More Card pack layers ( retired & current), glue & Stampin’Dimenstionals.

Time to make some cards!

Card 1

Crazy easy – Memories & More Card Pack inner layer combined with a cut frame.  For this card I cut the inner label information out to create the frame.  I gave it added lift with Stampin’Dimensionals.

Card 2

The subtle background print on these labels reminded me of the Birch Background Stamp.  I used it on a Tailored Made Tag.  A quick stamp of Merry Christmas from For Unto Us and an additional scrap strip along with a colored bit of ribbon to match the base.  So quick!!

Card 3

When taping this layer on I left the center open to tuck a tag into.  The tag is removable and has a simple To /From stamped with another tiny scrap.  The stamps on the tag and front Happy Holidays are from the November Paper Pumpkin!  Click on the photo to see another card/tag combo idea!

Card 4

I like this  “The Bakeshop” label so well I decided to leave it on this layer.  Topped off with pieces from Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More Card Pack.   All the elements except the black ‘drying rack’ are stickers.  Which made this come together very fast.  To adhere the ‘drying rack’ I used Black Stampin’ Dimensionals then hid them under the sticker elements.

Card 5

This card could not be any easier- two layers of the printed label divided with a stamped sentiment layer.  I used the Birch Background stamp and Smoky Slate ink to soften the Basic White Cardstock then stamped Merry Christmas from the November Paper Pumpkin stamp set.   The image size on these stamps is really nice!  Which made this card truly Q & E – Quick & Easy!

Card 6

Another Frame card!  Eliminating the printed instructions on the labels gave me a perfect frame.  I used the Paper Trimmer to do this by following the outline of the label with the guide ruler.  Paired with a retired Memories & More Card Pack- this finished card came together beautifully.  Did you know that all the Memories & More Card Packs have a few sheets of custom stickers?

All the gold elements on this card are stickers.  Brilliant!

Card 7

Strips and scraps along with some gold elements from the Expressions In Ink Ephemera pack and a pre cut die scrap from Snowflake Wishes Bundle.

I love having these types of paper elements on hand when a big cardmaking session happens.

It makes a simple card a real stand-out!

Card 8

Another strip piecing and sticker combo – this one just simply stair-steps as well as narrows the labeling left to right.  With the add in of the sticker ‘Joy’ it’s truly a 5 minute card.

A finished card before the glue even has time to dry!

Find Your Inspiration Friday Labels Becomes a Holiday Treat Card

Last Card #9

I was running out of my self imposed time limit and wanted to use only this label from the Loaf Tin.  Having the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More Card Pack pieces still remaining – I thought this would make a great simple small card for upcoming holiday treats.

Note: this fun Card Pack is on the retiring list!  Grab while you can!

When I get the baking done – I will add a “for you” tag or a hand written tag stating what baked treat I am gifting.   You can see that I decided to allow the Mini Black Dimensionals to show – here they look like the legs of a cooling rack.

For this card it took longer to fussy cut the Bakeshop label than it did to put together!

Tag Time!

One can never have enough tags on hand right before the wrapping sessions start!  I had alot of pre cut tags from a previous blog post.  Taking time to cut alot of dies when you get them out makes future projects so fast.  I found some small acrylic drawers at The Dollar Tree to store these small cut out elements.  As I was cleaning the crafty desk- I rounded up all the usable slivers and scrap cuts and simply glued them to the tags along with quick To / From stamping.
