Specialty Papers Edition 2

It occurred to me that I really don’t give enough time and attention to the Unique Qualities of some of the papers that Stampin’Up! works so hard to bring to us.  So, enter this blog post series that focuses less on techniques, card design or what we love about crafting most- the making.

This series is going to focus on papers.

Last week I shared a bit about the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper pack and the Snowy White Velvet Paper- I did’t go into alot of wordy details about them since I had given them the ‘Vanna’ treatment on Facebook Live.

Jump over to Facebook : Date: November 1, 2021.  Time Stamp: 39:56 – In case you don’t want to watch the whole video but would like to see those papers a bit closer.

The camera just can’t capture the beauty of the Snowy White Velvet.

In a word:  luxurious.  That Velvet paper is truly lovely.

This week’s featured papers are the Pearlescent Specialty Paper and the 6 x 6 Kraft Paper.

Pearlescent Specialty Paper

This paper really looks boring & bright white in this static image but really, it is a lovely off white color with a  pearly, moon-glow type shine.  When it’s dry embossed, using an Embossing Folder – it becomes something truly stunning!

You get 2 sheets which seems expensive but for details and dies – that lovely, pearly sheen adds elements to your cards that are textural, lovely and make a Happy Mail recipient wonder just how you did that!

I used this lovely paper for the MMM (Mailbox Makeover Monday) project today.  This photo really does not do this paper justice.  Seeing it in person is the best way to go with this one.  If you are needing an off white paper with a lovely sheen- this is a gem!

You can click on the before/after image of that post to see the full tutorial for a purse gift card holder.

I wish that I could lift this off the computer screen for you and show it off!

I will do just that on Nov. 15.

I will be on Facebook Live again and will make sure that I use some of my time with you to show the Monday Paper Series.

Now, you might be wondering why I’ve chosen Kraft Cardstock as part of the Unique Papers Series.

Unique Paper Series: Kraft Paper

You might ask- hey, Teresa-

There have been lots of Kraft colored papers throughout the years with Stampin’Up!  Right?

Yes, you are right and I’ve loved them all.  This one gets some spotlight because of it’s thickness.  I love durable paper for 3D projects and this one gets my attention because it’s so great for details.

It’s 6×6 size make it perfect for die cut projects.

Add verbiage here about the above die cut- it’s an easy to miss product on page:

Kraft Paper is good with the Details

Add some adhesive sheet to the back before you die cut and even those most delicate shapes will cut clean and stay put where you want them!

Now, having said all that- I vote for this paper in a 12 x 12 size!

I so, so wish it were – just think- nice big boxes!

Unique Papers Series Spotlight November 8, 2021

Instead of making one long article about all the Unique Stampin’Up! specialty papers that are available I am splitting the series out to 2 or 3 papers per week.  What is your favorite?

Check back in next Monday for more paper goodness!
