Birthday Saturday Party Palooza Pop-In!

Facebook Live Saturday Pop in projects.

This simple, add an element to a bakery cupcake and single layer card will have you popping out birthday projects last minute quick and in a hurry!

I sure missed popping into Facebook Live to share this as a demonstration rather than a blog only post.  But alas, technology was not on my side.  Webcam issues…with no quick fix:(

Pop In Palooza 2021 Projects

This card and dolled up cupcake combo are sweet & simple.  Grab a large greeting, two colors of ink, background fill stamps of any kind, a 4 1/4 x 11 sheet of cardstock, paper trimmer and maybe some embellishments and you are ready to stamp!

Pop In Palooza 2021 Card

To give this card a touch of the unique and to bring in a semblance of trendy slim line cards without actually making it those dimensions – I did this!

How to:  4 1/4″ x 11″ base card scored at 5 1/2″

  • First – Grab a Stampin’Blend Marker to color rhinestones, pearls or dots.  Set aside to dry.  I used the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’Blend Marker.  Color a think layer of ink, allow to dry then pounce ink from marker nib on the embellishment to put another layer of ink down.  Allow to dry thoroughly before adding to card- doing this first ensures they will be fully dry.

  • Stamp the focal point greeting:  Choose something large that fills a good portion of the front of your card.

    • I inked the sentiment with Cajun Craze first then ‘bounced’ Blackberry Bliss ink on the edges of each word.  Ink Spots work best for this or Stampin’Write markers.  Huff on the stamp then to paper. Hold for a couple of seconds to ensure good ink to paper transfer.

  • Your background fill: I chose the fern image from Daisy Lane.  I love these colors together and since my birthday is right after we move into the fall calendar (wishing for the autumn cool down please) I wanted to use an image that feels like fall.

    • I used the same colors and same technique to randomly stamp the image over the entire face of the card.

      • See those ‘ghost’ like images- once your ink is nearly all transferred from the stamp- keep stamping all over to soften & fill the blank spaces.

  • Cutting the ‘slim line look’.  Grab your paper trimmer->open card flat> front side up>1/2″ cut down from free edge of front to fold> rotate> 1/2″ cut up from free edge to fold.

  • Now glue the 1/2″ strip cuts down to the inside of the card & add embellishments.

By doing this, the card will stand up nicely and the front panel gives the appearance of a slim line card.

MMMMmmmmm Pumpkin Goodness!   Thanks to The Eatery  for this fall cupcake.

You need one too right??

To doll up a cupcake with a DiY paper balloon:

(If you want to see another paper crafting project with DiY Balloons see the previous post> Sept. 24)

  • Stamp 2 scraps of vanilla cardstock with the same technique above.

  • Take the 2 scraps put them together – blank sides touching.

    • Die cut or Circle Punch 2 sets of ‘balloons’

  • To shape the circles: Use the rounded end of Multipurpose glue bottle and a piece of foam- with circular motions to curve out your shape.

    • Add a dimensional to each side

      • attach a long toothpick

      • run a bead of glue around one circle

      • put the layers together – you will have to work a bit to get the edges to seal:) run your fingers round & round until all edges stick.

  • Add any details you like.  I used a simple HB from the same set as the big greeting on the front of the card.
